No....Our founding fathers toyed with the idea of a direct democracy, but chose for a democratic republic to prevent the "tyranny of the majority".
ReplyDeleteNot everyone has time to learn the ins and outs of every candidate and issue up for the vote, so in a direct democracy it the the social elites who have the leisure to vote who would call the shots for everybody.
